The Chinese Center on Long Island is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to providing programs to foster respect and appreciation of the culture and contributions made by the Chinese and Chinese Americans to the community at large.

Chinese Language

Using traditional and modern media, our classes teach reading, writing, and conversation in Mandarin and Cantonese. We offer classes for all ages, ranging from toddlers to adults!

Traditional Dance

Our traditional dance classes are among the most popular at the Chinese Center, teaching students the elegance and beauty of this classic Chinese art.

Lion Troupe

Our lion dance troupe meets on Sunday afternoons for intense but rewarding practice sessions, teaching students from age 5 and above the elements of our electrifying performances.

Arts

We offer programming to teach students the basics of Chinese art practices as well as the opportunity to learn the GuZheng, the well-known classical Chinese zither (harp).
